We are working with a leading technology organisation delivering large-scale, business-critical SaaS solutions to customers across the UK and internationally.

As part of continued growth, they are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join a project-focused engineering team responsible for designing, automating and deploying highly available cloud infrastructure and application delivery pipelines.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Azure Infrastructure Engineer, Platform Engineer or DevOps Engineer looking to work with modern cloud technologies, Infrastructure as Code and Kubernetes at scale.

You’ll play a key role in delivering complex projects, mentoring colleagues and helping shape engineering best practices across a sophisticated cloud environment.

The Opportunity

Working alongside architects, developers and fellow infrastructure engineers, you will be responsible for building and maintaining cloud infrastructure that supports high-volume, customer-facing SaaS applications.

You’ll contribute throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring infrastructure is delivered using modern automation practices and aligned to established architectural standards.

This role offers a strong blend of project delivery, infrastructure engineering, automation, mentoring and operational support.

Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Cloud Engineering
Design, build and deploy cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code.
Develop and maintain automated deployment pipelines for infrastructure and applications.
Deploy new platforms, services and environments.
Ensure infrastructure aligns with architectural standards and engineering best practices.
Support project delivery through high-quality, scalable and resilient infrastructure solutions.
Continuously improve deployment processes and engineering efficiency.
DevOps & Automation
Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines.
Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
Drive standardisation and repeatability across deployment processes.
Support cloud-native applications and containerised workloads.
Operational Support
Provide 4th-line technical support and infrastructure escalation when required.
Participate in an on-call rota supporting critical systems and services.
Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking and platform issues.
Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation.
Team Collaboration & Mentoring
Mentor and support other members of the Infrastructure Engineering team.
Share best practices and promote engineering excellence.
Collaborate with architects, developers and project teams to deliver successful outcomes.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the wider technology function.

About You
Essential Experience

We’re looking for someone with:

Strong experience designing and supporting enterprise cloud infrastructure in Azure.
Hands-on experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
Strong DevOps and Infrastructure as Code expertise.
Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
Strong understanding of networking, security, identity and access management principles.
Experience working with database and messaging technologies in cloud environments.
Knowledge of containerisation technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
Experience producing technical documentation to a high standard.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to prioritise effectively and manage multiple project deliverables.
Desirable Skills
Experience within complex SaaS environments.
Exposure to large-scale cloud transformation programmes.
Experience supporting highly available and business-critical platforms.
Previous mentoring or technical leadership experience.
Knowledge of security, monitoring and compliance frameworks.
