As an IT Support Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring effective IT assistance across all aspects of the business operations. Reporting to the Group IT Manager, you will also provide essential backup and support to the Lead Infrastructure Engineer. Your responsibilities will encompass supporting and maintaining Microsoft Server and Desktop operating systems, Azure, O365, Microsoft Exchange, and the general upkeep of IT-related hardware and software. This role offers exposure to a diverse range of IT projects and activities, co-located across multiple sites
Review system designs to ensure the selection of appropriate technology, efficient resource utilization, integration of multiple systems, and adherence to ‘Secure by Design’ principles.
Assist the IT department in implementing, administering, and supporting infrastructure solutions and services.
Troubleshoot and identify problems across various technology domains, including compute, storage, networking, physical infrastructure, software, and cloud.
Identify the correct procedures and channels for issue resolution, monitoring progress updates for users.
Support and administer various IT components, including Virtualization (Hyper-V, NAS, SAN’s), Network (LAN, WAN, WLAN), Active Directory, Azure, O365, DNS, DHCP, CCTV, and more.
Contribute to Infrastructure Strategies, implementations, and training.
Develop ongoing IT strategies to meet the evolving needs of the business.
Maintain the security, confidentiality, and integrity of information systems (Information Security).
Handle general IT administration tasks across all systems.
Create technical documents.
Manage system backups.
Apply problem-solving skills effectively.
Administer and support remote clients.
Skills / Abilities:
Technical competence in areas such as Active Directory, Azure Active Directory Connect, Azure WVD, Azure Files, DNS, DHCP, PowerShell, firewalls, routers, switches, Virtualization platforms (Hyper-V), Windows Server, SAN Technologies, Windows Client, Microsoft Exchange, VOIP Telephone Systems, Backup Solutions, and knowledge of CAD Software (an advantage).
Minimum of 1 year of IT infrastructure support experience in a similar-sized company.
Strong self-motivation and dynamism.
